We are thrilled to let you all in on a little announcement – that Empire Works has officially been named West Yorkshire’s BEST new development.

LABC is an industry body which independently assesses and inspects the quality of our properties at each build-stage, in order to provide our customers with warranties.

Our local LABC inspector, who has visited Empire Works numerous times, entered us into the building control’s regional awards, back in March. We were grateful to be shortlisted, so we went along to the LABC awards at Cedar Court Hotel in Leeds on Friday 7 June.

We were up against some healthy competition, but we were delighted when Empire Works flashed up on the screen and we were announced as the winner.

Empire Works is said to have won the prestigious award, because of our commitment to regulation, craft manship, innovation, sustainability, quality and the consideration of local demand.

Talking of the award win, Stephen Byram, founder and managing director of SB Homes, said: “Empire Works is the most quality and renowned development in West Yorkshire, and we are incredibly proud of that. From speaking with customers and locals about the impact it has had on their lives and the village, we already knew it was a special development, but it is fantastic for it to be ‘official’.

“Slaithwaite is set in a steep valley, so many of our clients are homeowners who have lived in the village for all their lives, but formerly felt trapped in a situation where they could either leave the area or stick where they were — in homes that were too big and required far too much maintenance for them. The apartments, which have lift access, are therefore the perfect solution for local demand.”

Our properties at Empire Works are crafted in natural, dyed stone which reflects the local vernacular. Some properties are also clad in cedar timber, whereas the apartments are fitted with anthracite grey steel.

Empire Works will now be entered into LABC’s national awards, taking place in November.
